There should be greener options such as the option to just receive a digital download of an album or receive only the physical photocards. K-pop fans have also suggested alternative such as making albums available via QR codes printed on soap, instead of physical plastic albums.

Over 10k Petition Signatures
Kpop4planet gathered over 10,000 signatures from fans in over 97 countries asking for more sustainability in the industry. The petition was sent to SM, YG, JYP and HYPE via email, but no response has been received yet.

Sustainable K-pop Conference
At a panel discussion at the National Assembly in South Korea, Kpop4planet discussed sustainability plans in the industry with industry leaders such as the Korea Entertainment Producers Association, NAVER ESG, and Kakao Entertainment.

Plastic Album Collection Campaign Launch
Kpop4planet collected unused albums from K-pop fans in South Korea, collecting over 8,000 by late April. The goal was to show how entertainment companies are encouraging excess album consumption and to show the environmental impact of this.

Earth Day Offline Action
Kpop4planet delivered the unused albums from the K-pop fans to the entertainment companies, asking them to implement more sustainable album options.
